CDS Downtime – Tuesday 17th May

During this time you will be unable to submit declarations or populate goods movement references with Customs Declaration Service declaration references. Submitted declarations will be held in a queue until the service is resumed.

You should use the service before the planned downtime to avoid any delays.

Due to scheduled work on the Customs Declaration Service, there may be some disruption to the Goods Vehicle Movement Service online service from Tuesday 17th May 2022 23:59 to 01:00 Wednesday 18th May 2022.

Actions which may be affected:

Create or update a Goods Movement Reference

Goods Movement References will go to a ‘non-finalisable’ state if a Customs Declaration Service declaration is being attached during the maintenance.

Check-in Goods Movement References (outbound)

Goods Movement References with Customs Declaration Service declarations will go to a ‘controlled’ state. When the maintenance ends:

  • queued messages will be processed
  • the risking response may change from ‘controlled’ to ‘release’
  • embark Goods Movement Reference (outbound) — departure messages will be queued, then processed and updated when downtime ends

Embark Goods Movement Reference (inbound)

Goods Movement References with Customs Declaration Service declarations will go to a ‘controlled state’ . When downtime ends:

  • queued messages will be processed
  • the risking response may change from ‘controlled’ to ‘release’
