The survey is part of a longer-term research programme which seeks to understand the sector more as it develops and changes over time, and you may remember taking part in a previous wave of this research between August and October 2022.
Your participation is valuable given you have taken part in this research before as it helps to provide HMRC with the insight needed on key areas. All findings from this research helps HMRC to provide ongoing support to businesses throughout the sector.
IPSOS would like to follow up with the members they spoke to last time, to understand their experience of the customs processes that are currently in place. Questions will be relevant to your business, and the researchers hope that Members will be able to take part.
BIFA would like to encourage members to participate in the survey if possible as BIFA believes this research assists in better understanding the capacity and needs of the customs sector.
What does the research involve?
The research is being conducted by Ipsos, an independent research organisation, on behalf of HMRC. An Ipsos interviewer will call over the next few weeks from the number 0131 561 4532 to take members through a set of questions.
The research will take around 20 minutes to complete and calls are scheduled at a date and time that is most convenient to you. Members can also contact Kylie Wade at HMRC for information about this research by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
A list of some of the questions that the interviewer will ask can be found here.
Who would Ipsos like to speak to?
Where possible, they would like to speak to the representative who took part in the previous interview earlier in the year. However, where this is not possible, they would like to speak with someone senior who has the best overview of their organisation’s strategy and processes relating to customs rules and controls. Ipsos are keen to talk to all businesses who submit or outsource declarations on behalf of traders.
What if I don’t want to take part?
If you do not want to be contacted to take part in this survey, please let us know either by emailing Ipsos at email@example.com or calling 0800 0149 453, with your reference number.
