As part of their on-going IT improvements, HMRC will be updating the following service: New Computerised Transit Service (NCTS)
Please note: These will be individual 45 minute outages on each day.
- New Computerised Transit System (NCTS) affects the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) – Saturday 13th August 2022, 10pm to 10.45pm & Sunday 14th August 2022, 10pm to 10:45pm
Due to planned maintenance work on the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS), creating, updating or embarking a goods movement reference (GMR) will be affected.
Once the maintenance is completed, declarations submitted in this downtime will be processed.
If you need to complete a goods movement reference during the NCTS outage, make sure any Movement Reference Numbers (MRNs) you add have been created in NCTS by your declarant and released in advance of 10pm on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th August 2022.
Carriers will continue to collect, validate and embark goods movement references for crossings during the period of downtime.
Goods movement references (GMRs) remain mandatory for freight movements using the Goods Movement Vehicle Service (GVMS). Hauliers without a valid goods movement references will be turned away.
Government apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
